Some of the contestants’ statements after the last day
20.09.2008
Dario Kliba:
Too much wind! They even raised a flag after the second match signaling that we cannot sail with the spinnakers any more. After that the matches lost their charm. It was a very hard day for all of us, especially for those who entered the semifinals. Hats off to them!
Adam Minoprio:
It was very windy. The racing was really exciting because of the shifty wind conditions - very tricky but same for everyone. We lost couple of matches, and now we're out of the regatta. I must confess we are a bit disappointed... Those who made it to the semifinals really did a good job, and I think it is going to be hard to win.
Sergey Musikhin:
Wind in Split today was almost the same as the winds that blow in Russia. The regatta was a first-class event and we are very glad for being a part of it. We would also like to come again next year, if you invite us.

Approaching the finals!
20.09.2008

Two more flights of the Second Round Robin have been sailed today until noon thanks to strong NE wind of 26 knots. The situation is very interesting and it is possible that the expectations come true. Adam Minoprio from New Zealand, used to strong winds, accomplished two victories, one against the leading Col and the other against Cian, in this way coming closer to Pacé (both of them have 10 points) just before the semifinals. Sebastién Col is still in the lead with 13 points, and then there is Mirsky with 12 and Cian with 11 points. On the lower part of the table, Dario Kliba takes 6 points, after him there is Tomislav Bašić with 5,5. Musikhin, Tarnacki and Barbieri each have two points. Latest results live!
